DJ Slyngshot is a mysterious force, a producer that has built his name the old-fashioned way, issuing quality tapes and records from his pointedly garish website until people began to sit up and take notice. Crafting a hybrid of hip-hop and lo-fi house that sounds genuinely fresh, the German founder of Yappin Records is a force to be reckoned with behind the 1s and 2s. This was evidenced some time ago in Glasgow when one of our residents managed to catch the man himself and was utterly blown away by the energy and skill on show.
Slyngshot pulls off this amalgamation of genres with class and style, chopping up jazzy melodies over blown-out house rhythms with turntablist effects.
We’ve managed to secure the man himself for an extended 3 hour set, expect our usual attic room at Mash to turn into a dizzying, jazzy, hip-house paradise for the evening!
