For our final party of 2019 we’re teaming up again with our allies at Dundee record label Hilltown Disco to invite the legendary DMX Krew to perform LIVE at The Mash House.
With a career spanning 25 years, DMX Krew has been a key fixture of the DIY electronic music scene since the early ’90s, having consistently released records on the likes of Aphex Twin’s Rephlex Records, Shipwrec, and his own imprint Breakin’ Records for 25 years. Commanding a cult-like following around the world among electronic music heads, Ed Upton’s prolific output spans electro, acid, techno, IDM, boogie, synth pop, Italo disco, house and much more, all of which is now channeled into a spectacular live set full of improvised hardware jams and powerful electronics built for contemporary dance floors. Despite keeping a relatively low profile within the current world of electronic music, DMX Krew rightly remains a fan favourite across the world’s finest clubbing institutions, and at festivals such as Dimensions Festival and Dekmantel’s Lente Kabinet.
If you didn’t already know, Hilltown Disco is a family, party and record label currently putting Dundee’s music scene on the map. With 8 stellar releases now under their belt (with contributions from Palidrone resident J Wax), 3 of which belonging to their Art Angel series raising money and awareness for Dundee mental health charity Art Angel, Hilly D are no doubt shaping up to be one of the country’s freshest record labels for electro-minded dance music and after we teamed up with them last year to bring Sync 24 to Edinburgh, it’s our pleasure to be joining forces again to round off the year with a bang.
Tickets £5/£8/£10, available from Resident Advisor.
