~ PARTY ~ MUSIC ~ ALL ~ NIGHT ~ LONG ~
Crème Fresh presents a celebration of two of the world’s most musical cities, Chicago and Detroit. Come with us on a journey from the Windy to Motor city and back again.
The night will showcase everything from the early house pioneered by Frankie Knuckles and Marshall Jefferson to Detroit’s high tech soul, envisioned by Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. BPMs are sure to soar higher than usual with forays into Chicago footwork and Detroit electro.
While looking to the past we will also be celebrating the artists pushing the scene forward today. Cuts from Wild Oats and FXHE back catalogues are just as likely to be slipped in as a Phuture classic.
Genres likely to be heard but not limited to include: House, Techno, Motown, Footwork, Juke, Ghetto Tech and Electro.
We’ll also be joined by Wrisk of Overground fame who will be helping to us to navigate our way through as many genres as possible in one night. As a member of more music focused Facebook groups than were possible in the site’s original code Wrisk’s psychic and physical record bag are rivalled by few in the Edinburgh scene. Early sources quoted him saying “I’ve got a lot of electro” which is good, cause we haven’t.
Entry is FREE before 12 and £5 after.
Expect the classics, expect obscurities and expect to dance.
Get down to the sound of the underground.
