Friends of ᴏᴠᴇʀɢʀᴏᴜɴᴅ Hi & Saberhägen are without doubt one of Scotland’s finest offerings into the world of outsider club music in some years. They’ve been signed to Huntleys + Palmers, Lo Recordings, Yumé Records, Belters and Permanent Vacation as well Anthony Naples’ now defunct Proibito Recs imprint. None other than Midland has such faith in the duo that he has chosen the them for the second release on his new Graded sub-label Intergraded. The four track 12″ ‘Light on Leaves’ is due at the beginning of April and is one of their finest works to date. It’s in anticipation of this that we’re throwing a release party in collaboration with them.
The pair’s leftfield and introspective signature has caught the attention of some of the most influential DJs in underground dance music, with Objekt including a track of theirs in his flawless Dekmantel podcast, and Roman Flügel playing their contribution to local label Lionoil Industries’ second output in his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Other well-known supporters of their music include Joy Orbison, Erol Alkan, Mosca, Tim Sweeney, Gilles Peterson, and especially Ben UFO who has played more of their music than any other name mentioned here.
The two are also sick club DJs with years of experience behind them tearing up every party they play. You’re in safe hands with this one. Guaranteed banger.
