IDIOTEQUE

Idioteque – With an ear for all things melancholic, atmospheric and bass-driven, the music that flows from the restless mind of Idioteque melds worlds between trip-hop, electronica and alternative rock; taking influences from an amalgam of artists, it refuses to be pigeon-holed.

The boundary pushing producer ties together a love of guitar-led melodies, experimentation and unfamiliar beat structures, Idioteque’s ideas are eclectic and ever-evolving, with the latest collection of songs honing in on his more personal and emotive side to the creative process.

Transitioning from studio to the stage, the music is guided by live drums, guitars and a revolving door of vocalists, accompanied with programmed atmospheres, bass, sampled dialogue and visuals from classic movies and video games; creating a truly mood shifting audio visual experience.

Idioteque’s output has gained attention worldwide, with songs “Richie Aprile”, “Stylet”, “I Remember” and “34,33” in particular being featured on a list of notable editorial and curator playlists, in addition to multiple press features and radio inclusion (BBC / FIP Radio + more).

“If you’re a fan of genre-bending, immersive music that rewards deep listening, Idioteque is an essential listen.” – Static Sounds Club

MORVEN MCARDLE

Morven McArdle – (formally known as Morven and the McArdles) is an alternative singer-songwriter from the East Coast of Scotland. As a classically trained pianist, her music is made distinctive by the repetitive intertwining piano and guitar melodies, which mixed with lyrical haunting vocals, finds her music darting around the edges of dark indie and rock, to art pop and jazz. Her songwriting style is characterised by deeply personal narratives, but often hidden in characters and told through imaginary stories and is a reflection of a very open-minded approach to writing music, tackling subjects regarding heartbreak, loss and grief.
