Edinburgh Indie Soc Dayfest

Introducing AhPro–Poe, a brand new day festival on the 17th of January. We’re bringing together some of the most exciting noisy bands in the UK AT THIS PRESENT TIME to play in an order THAT WE DECIDE. Don’t ask questions like ‘what genre is it’? Or ‘who’s the secret headliner?’. Trust the plan. Patriots in control. We think these bands are great, but why not get a little more specific:

SECRET HEADLINER. From Bristol. Haven’t played a Scotland show in a very long time. We’re trying out a new marketing technique.
UNIVERSITY:
Noise rock/midwest emo from Crewe. The NME gave describing their debut album a go–‘An explosion of energy unlike anything you�ve heard this year’– but that hardly does it justice. They’re so good they were personally invited out to the US by Deftones to play at their festival.

MY RUSHMORE:
Midwest Emo/Emo from Glasgow, Glasgow’s cutest boyband. My Rushmore: Heroes of the scene, Audio Longue staple, music you can run around in a circle to and also sing and scream like there’s no tomorrow. They need very little introduction frankly.

MARTIAL ARTS:
Martial Arts released 3 cracking singles in 2024 and played what seemed to be a show a week in and around the Manchester area. They’ve been refining their live show and working very hard on new music (which I’m told is nearly ready for release). No strangers to Edinburgh, they headlined a sold out show with the band Weatherman way back in October of last year (their first ever Scotland show btw). Since that time, they’ve seen great success in all areas of their lives, so we’re bringing them back for a victory lap.

BELA SPIT:
Our Line-up’s wildcard… ‘Leeds based weepers wailers’, ‘Post-pussy anarchic cabaret’, it is our supreme pleasure to bring them to the Mash House for their Scotland debut. Dare I say it, I hear echoes of the Stranglers and Iggy Pop in their debut ‘spit/swallow’. They’ve been racking up some good support slots over in Leeds lately, opening for bathing suits and would you believe it, University. Lets go for round two.
