Having debuted on The Trilogy Tapes in 2014, Minor Science has since released annually on Whities – the Young Turks sublabel curated by former Boiler Room host and past Overground guest Tasker. With an academic background in music and as a journalist for one of the most esteemed platforms within underground dance music (Resident Advisor), it comes as no surprise that Minor Science’s productions are hailed as some of the most boundary-pushing and genre-defying works of recent years.
2016’s “Naturally Spineless”, was described by The Quietus as, “mixing up all the best elements of dubstep and dark garage from the early half of the last decade in a way that is wholly new.” The track made it onto several year-end lists and was nominated for Track of the Year at Gilles Peterson‘s Worldwide Awards. This year sees Minor Science release the highly-anticipated follow-up “Volumes” which has been causing a stir among the community for some time. In the words of Ben UFO, it will “knock your face clean off with a smile fixed to it”.
Aside from these releases, Minor Science is responsible for two Overground personal favourites. Last year’s MxMS dubplate is a psychedelic disco banger that will be familiar to any regular attendee of our nights, and his recent Special Request remix is a strong contender for our favourite tune of the year so far. The producer’s hybrid vision is reflected in his precise, frenetic DJ sets, which enact striking collisions of techno, electro, and UK sounds. We’re delighted to be bringing him to The Mash House for his Scottish debut. This is not one to miss.

Examples of which include, but are not limited to: invasion of personal space; discrimination of any type; deliberately causing offense; predatory behaviours; violence and aggression. Gender neutral toilets available.
If you have any suggestions for how our party could be more inclusive, please don’t hesitate to message the Overground facebook page with such ideas. We appreciate it.
